Get More In The Jar With Money Saving Tips

A Happier Life With Frugal Living

Honestly, who likes to wake up every morning only to be reminded by bills and debts? With the way society portray the ways of our lifestyle, we are subconsciously guided to live by certain standards of living.

Brands occupy our life and controls our spending habits but at the end of the day, we are left alone to deal with the notices from banks and calls from debt collection companies.

Frugal living can bring back what life has intended for you. Between Tivo, PS3, Mac and Iphone nowadays, family has lost the art of communication and bonding skills required for a truly healthy family environment.

Sad, but believe or not, frugal living can restore this plus more money in your bank accounts for essential activities like family trip, future education and even a backup pension account.

Learn of ways to live within your means and you will find yourself cultivating a habit you wish you have discovered earlier. You will be surprised that by discovering an alternative way to spend your money, you will in fact have more to spend.

Isn't it better than getting poorer by the day even though you are fully accessorized with Apple gadgets and the latest from Gucci (even though you got it at a sale because you can't afford to buy it any other time?).

Stop this nonsense spending behavior and start having some sense that the person walking by you will not admire you more for what you have (he doesn't even know you!).

Confidence is when you know you can have a 2 weeks holiday and yet still not worry about the bills because you don't have many to go about with since you are careful with your dough.

Once you can do this, you will know what I mean. The real joy of living.

Try to achieve the joy of living by living frugally with these few tips:-

Eating habits -

  • Eat less meat, more seasonal greens (its healthier for you anyways and that means less health problems and medical expenses).
  • Substitute meat with eggs, they'll cheaper and packed with proteins and vitamins.
  • Pack your own lunch.

More Tips...

  • Stop buying coffee, bring your own sachet (Remember, stop thinking everyone is looking at you, unless you're Angelina Jolie!).
  • Stop buying beverages altogether, water is the best for your and your body plus you'll lose weight easier.
  • Be creative with leftovers (some food taste even better when left overnight).
  • Stop eating out, cook at home (you'll save a fortune plus your partner will be eternally grateful after you have passed the stage of burning the soup).
  • Cook in bulk, eat with smaller plates (your mind will be tricked into believing you have finished an entire bowl of soup when its only half).
  • Learn to make simple Asian dishes (Main ingredients are cheaper than cheese and cream. A dash of soy sauce, pepper and sesame oil and voila, you have the sauce for a yummy plate of noodles).
  • Recycle food (like converting stale bread to bread pudding).
  • Salvage the last drop of sauce in the jar by mixing with a bit of water.
  • Have pot luck parties instead of a caterer.
  • Be a Mc Donald's ketchup sauce collector.
  • Buy whole chickens and find recipes to fully utilize each part. Not applicable for beef or mutton.
  • Buy block cheese instead of grated ones.
  • Grow your own greens.
  • Never eat with your credit card. Always use cash.
  • Be a coupon lover but don't be a collector.
  • Don't buy in bulk if your family consist of only you, your partner and Fifi the cat. The bulk buying saving method is only applicable for the likes of Jon & Kate plus 8.

When you do all these, you will start seeing more money in the little jar of yours and won't mind the resetting of your mindset one bit. Check out my other hubpages for more tips on making your money worth spending and life worth living.
